Ed K from Līve just did an excellent LONG (~60 minute) interview with Scott Lipps on the Lipps Service podcast. Highly recommend listening to the whole thing as it had great tidbits and anecdotes from the early days of the band. There's also great info about the new lineup and new music they're recording:

He was asked if he was nervous about putting 'Lady Bhang (She Got Me Rollin')' out into the world as it was the first new song in seven years since the Local 717 ep.

"I was but now that it's mixed and mastered I love it. At first, it was a journey. Because we did it all in-house.. we actually uh... Zak Loy our guitar player produced along with Nick Jay our keyboard player produced and actually mixed it as well so it's a full in-house deal and it's amazing. And Dean's on it... cherry on top."

He also talks about how Robin Diaz got hired because Chad Gracey slipped on mac n cheese and broke his arm? That's a new one for me.

Ed also said that they're headed back into the studio in Austin mid-September.

"...we're down in Austin it's an incredible place... recording with the new guys and uh some stuff... this song sounds great but we've got so much more and we're gonna hit the studio in the Fall and keep going."
